With Bay Port involved in the State High School Baseball Tournament this week, the Manitowoc American Legion varsity team instead played Pulaski last night.
The game at Municipal Field was called after 4-complete innings due to heavy rains with Post 88 declared the winner, 8-to-3.
Ashton Portmann (of Manitowoc Lincoln High School was the winning pitcher & received plenty of support from his legion teammates. They scored 8-runs on 8-hits against Pulaski while stealing 7-bases, 3 of those by Carter Stebane of Brillion.
Zack Marten of Manitowoc Lutheran went 3-for-3 with 2-RBI’sand Lincoln’s Jackson Schmitz added a pair of hits and an RBI. Hunter Chalupny from Roncalli chipped in a double and RBI.
The legion baseball JV and Varsity teams are scheduled to host Fond du lac tonight. The first game begins at 5:00.
