Gumby’s Club Fore a Cure will hold its annual fundraiser this coming weekend in Manitowoc.
Manitowoc resident Rob Roseff started the event over ten years ago when he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and decided to do a fundraiser for the Relay for Life event. It went well for the first couple of years, then in 2011, he decided to make it a benefit for local families affected by cancer.
Roseff says, “Since we switched to that format the event really took off, because, you know, everybody wants to know where their money is going. We are a 100% volunteer organization. No money goes to salaries, no money goes out of state, it all stays right here in our local area, and any money we make is donated back to families affected by cancer.
The event will be held at the Meadow sports complex on Manitowoc’s north side with a golf scramble, a glow walk-run, and a nine-pin bowling tournament. Activities will be on this coming Saturday and Sunday.
