A 22-year-old driver from Beloit has been arrested after leading authorities on a chase and ramming a police squad car, injuring an officer.
Broadhead police were told about a possible intoxicated driver in a McDonald’s drive-thru Sunday at about 6:30 p-m.
Police say that driver, Anthony J. Hoffman Hernandez, failed to stop, driving down a dead-end street, then turning around and hitting the squad car.
The pursuit was stopped due to safety concerns, then a second pursuit started when Rock County authorities spotted Hoffman Hernandez.
He was taken into custody when he crashed his vehicle.
The injured Broadhead police officer has been treated and released from the hospital.
