The University of Wisconsin has announced the October 2nd Big Ten Conference game against Michigan will also be “Barry Alvarez Day” at Camp Randall Stadium, as the school honors its former coach and athletic director.
Retirement for Alvarez officially started last week after more than 30 years of success in Madison.
Alvarez coached the Badgers from 1990 to 2005, running up a career record of 119 wins, 72 losses, and four ties.
He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
