His attorney says Alfonso Morales will return to his former position as Milwaukee police chief next Monday.
No settlement agreement has been reached.
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Christopher Foley ruled that Morales should return to the job by July 3rd because he was illegally demoted last August.
Both sides agreed to extend the deadline to July 12th.
Attorney Frank Gimbel says Morales is abiding by the judge’s decision.
No Milwaukee city officials have confirmed that version of what is about to happen.
Jeffrey Norman is currently serving as the city’s interim chief.
