“Great turnout, great crowd, and everybody is here because of the cause.”
That comment yesterday by Rob “Gumby” Roseff, co-founder of Gumby’s Club Fore A Cure held at Meadow Sports Complex in Manitowoc.
The 11th annual fundraiser to help cancer victims and their Families was blessed by ideal conditions.
“By the grace of God, the weather is beautiful, the people are here in full force, record numbers this year, 91 golf teams,” Roseff told Seehafer News. “I didn’t get the final total for the Walk/Run, but it has to be around 300.”
Along with golfers and the Glow run-and-walk, there were bowlers doing their part inside on Meadow Lanes.
Gumby proudly stated that all money raised stays in the lakeshore community.
“[We are a] 100% volunteer organization. Nobody pulls any money out of it,” he explained. “We have donors that cover all of our expenses, so everything we raise, we can give right back to the families that really need it.”
Prior to the large weekend event, Gumby’s Club Fore A Cure has donated over $281,000 and this year alone, checks were mailed to 46 local families affected by cancer.
Following several emotional testimonials Sunday, Roseff accepted a check for $12,000 from Brennan Seehafer Productions, as proceeds from the Vic Ferrari and Glam Band concerts on July 3rd.
