An unusual and eclectic display is coming to the Manitowoc Public Library.
From July 13th through September 2nd, the library will be featuring a collection of art related to Grant Wood’s iconic painting called American Gothic.
The collection has been assembled over the years by Barb Bundy-Yost, who has served several years as a teacher and as director of the Rahr-West art museum.
Library director Kristin Stoeger voiced her appreciation to Bundy-Jost, saying, “We’re really thankful for the partnership with Barb so that we can use our space to showcase the artwork from the artists in our community and also the artwork from the collectors like Barb in our community as well, so this is another great opportunity to showcase that. We’re excited to have that within our space.”
The collection includes pieces by local artists, including students of Bundy-Yost.
She says it features a lot of different perspectives by different artist, and includes sculpture as well as paintings.
