Standout freshman Dawson Garcia is moving east. He announced last week he will be transferring from Marquette to North Carolina.
Garcia had entered the transfer portal after he found out he wouldn’t be taken in the 2021 N-B-A Draft.
Garcia averaged 13 points a game as a freshman for the Golden Eagles.
One of his best games came the night Marquette upset the Tar Hells 83-70 last season.
Garcia scored 24 points on nine-of-13 shooting and took down 11 rebounds.
That may have made an impression on new North Carolina coach Hubert Davis, who was an assistant at the time.
