A 31-year-old Kimberly woman was killed, and her two young passengers were severely injured late Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Manitowoc County.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig said Kristen VanDeVoort was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at State Highway 42 & County VV in the Town of Two Rivers about 4:00 PM.
In addition, a 7-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries and were flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Deputies say VanDeVoort’s car failed to stop for the stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck driven by 71-year-old George Dearborn of Appleton.
That driver and his passenger, 69-year-old Wendy Dearborn, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
Sheriff Hartwig says the crash remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
