When Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos knocked in a pair of runs with a ninth-inning single off All-Star closer John Hader it gave Cincinnati a 3-1 win Sunday afternoon.
The Reds took the series three games out of four. They also defeated Hader two days in a row.
Following this week’s All-Star break, the same two teams will meet again in Cincinnati this time, starting Friday night.
Despite the loss, Milwaukee is in first place at the All-Star break for just the sixth time in the franchise’s 51 years of existence.
The Reds are four games back.
Jackie Bradley Junior singled in Milwaukee’s only run in the sixth inning, tying the score at one apiece.
Catcher Omar Narvaez was named to the All-Star team after Yadier Molina decided he needed the time off to rest an injured foot.
