Bail is set at $2000 recognizance for a 26-year-old Manitowoc man who’s facing charges after allegedly physically abusing his girlfriend. Dominick T. King was taken to the County Jail last night on charges of Strangulation or Suffocation.
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Quay Street where the female victim told them that King and his mother came to her home to pick up a cellphone. An argument ensued where he allegedly grabbed her from behind smothering her nose and mouth, grabbing her neck, slamming her against the wall multiple times. King then fled the scene later telling police that he never hurt her claiming she slammed his hand in a gate. Conditions of Bail are that King have “no contact” with the victim or any residence or property she may occupy.
He’s due back in court for an initial appearance on August 2nd.
