The University of Wisconsin Athletics Department has named a pair of hockey standouts as its “Athletes of the Year” for last season.
Winning that designation means Cole Caufield and Daryl Watts will be Wisconsin’s nominees for Big Ten Conference Athlete of the Year.
Caufield has already won the 2021 Hobey Baker Memorial Award for being the nation’s top men’s hockey player.
Watts was named first-team All-American and a highlight of her Badgers career was scoring the winning goal in the 2019 National Championship game against Minnesota.
