Brewers shortstop Willy Adames has been named National League Player of the Week.
He was 8-13 in the important three-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds, hitting two home runs, a double, scoring six times, and driving in seven. Adames had a pair of three-hit games, another with two hits, and extended his batting streak to eight games in a row.
Brandon Woodruff is the only other Brewer to be named N-L Player of the Week. He was honored in May.
Keston Hiura was the last position player for Milwaukee to be designated, and that was two years ago this month.
After a day off, the Brewers return to action this afternoon (July 20th) at 3:10 p-m hosting the Kansas City Royals. Brett Anderson is scheduled to be the starting pitcher. The opener of the two-game series will be aired on 107.9 FM WOMT.
