Three weeks into retirement and former Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez has a new job.
Alvarez will serve as a special advisor to the Big Ten Conference for football.
The announcement was made Thursday by Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren.
Alvarez was head football coach, then athletic director at Wisconsin for 32 years.
Warren pointed to the success, integrity, hard work, creativity, intelligence, and leadership the former Badger leader will bring to the conference in his new role during Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis.
