When Wisconsin Badgers freshman defenseman Corson Ceulemans heard his name called Friday night it meant the program has had players taken in the first round of the N-H-L Draft for each of the last four years.
Ceulemans was taken by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the 25th pick.
He played last year for the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Brooks Bandits and totaled eight points in six games while helping Team Canada win the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 World Championship.
The Badgers program has had seven players chosen in the first round in the last six drafts.
