A 57-Year-old Manitowoc man is facing an OWI charge in relation to a single-vehicle accident early this morning in the Town of Newton.
Richard Yang is also facing a charge of unsafe lane deviation. The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department and EMS personnel responded to the call a little after 3 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates Yang was traveling northbound at I-43 and Clover Road when he drifted out of his lane proceeding to collide with a guardrail causing his vehicle to spin out of control before coming to rest on northbound I-43. Yang was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay to what were termed significant injuries.
Alcohol appears to be a determining factor in the crash and the accident remains under investigation.
