Authorities in Washington County say two people suffered severe burns when their home exploded late last week.
A neighbor reported the blast Friday at about 8:20 p-m.
The two victims haven’t been identified, but they were taken to a local hospital by ambulance, then airlifted to a regional burn unit.
The house and all of its contents are said to be a total loss.
The explosion and fire caused some damage to a home nearby, with one neighbor reporting the explosion was caused by a gas leak in a clothes dryer.
One of the victims said he had just turned on that dryer and he didn’t remember anything else.
Crews from 11 fire departments responded.
