Congresswoman Gwen Moore says she is reintroducing the Worker Relief and Credit Reform Act.
The Wisconsin Democrat says the bill would expand the definition of work to include unpaid caregivers and low-income students. They would become eligible for income tax credit and could potentially receive tax refunds.
Stay-at-home parents and those who care for sick family members would benefit. Moore says the legislation includes an option to get about 75% of the refund paid out monthly, rather than waiting for a one-time larger refund at tax time.
