A 61-year old Newton man was airlifted to Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay late yesterday afternoon following a 2-vehicle crash in northern Manitowoc County.
The preliminary investigation shows Scott Schultz was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on I-43, south of Hidden Valley Road about 5:15 when he started braking for slowing traffic.
He was then rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler driven by 19-year old Billy Moran Mejia of Manitowoc. Schultz was ejected from the cycle sustaining injuries.
Jason Orth Major-Operations with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office said the motorcyclist was transported by Eagle-3 to Green Bay and his condition is not known.
Traffic was rerouted off that stretch of the interstate in the Town of Cooperstown during the investigation.
The State Patrol is assisting by doing a crash reconstruction.
