Dennis M. Koish, age 75, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Care Partners of Manitowoc.
Dennis was born on September 10, 1945 in Norway, MI. He was the son of the late Joseph and Verna Bettica Koish. Dennis attended Escanaba High School in Escanaba, Michigan and graduated with the class of 1963. He then entered the United States Army and served his country overseas in Viet Nam for 12 months. After his honorable discharge he returned home. In the early 1970’s Dennis was employed at Mirro Aluminum followed by employment at Metal Ware Corporation in Two Rivers from where he retired in 2011. He married Karen Kirchen in 1974 in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2019. Dennis was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Dennis also enjoyed fishing and doing small engine work in his garage.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Koish and his daughter, Paula Koish, both of Manitowoc; two nephews, his Godson, Anthony (Faye) Runkel and Douglas Koish; two nieces, Susie and Tina; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Koish, MI, Sue (John) Brehn, North Carolina, Sandy (Fred) Larshied, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law, Michael (Linda) Kirchen, Two Rivers; other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Verna Koish, wife, Karen Koish, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Timothy Runkel, and one brother, Donald Koish.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc with Military honors accorded by the Viet Nam Veterans of American Chapter #731. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 :30 a.m. Following the services at Evergreen Cemetery there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
