Gerald “Gerry” Leon Hammersley, age 69, of Manitowoc, passed away in his home, August 1, 2021 surrounded by his beloved family and friends.
Gerry was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 22, 1952 to parents, Clarence and Bernice (Archambault) Hammersley. He grew up and attended school in Texas and Arizona and eventually made his way to Wisconsin. Gerry was a people person and truly enjoyed the conversations and connections he made with the people that he crossed paths with.
He was employed by Kelvinator for many years, holding the position of Union President. He then became involved in sales and was employed by Val Pac as one of their top sales people, marketing and advertising for area businesses. Over the years Gerry was quite the entrepreneur, having his hand in many outside ventures to include, but not limited to, real estate, flipping houses, “Fun Day Vacations,” and media advertising for area businesses.
Gerry’s best friend and partner through all of his ventures was his wife, Lois (Tess) Hammersley. They married on July 4, 2004 in Green Bay.
Gerry was an avid sports fan of his Wisconsin teams, always cheering on the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks. Together, he and Lois enjoyed their land near Lambeau, welcoming people for parking to see the Packer games. Gerry absolutely loved his fireworks and put on an annual show for friends and family to enjoy.
