Pet Skull Brewing is the first business to open up in Manitowoc’s River Point District, formerly known as the CN Peninsula.
Mayor Justin Nickels says the next and very important step has been taken to build the River North Apartments.
“We’ve just signed the final development agreement with the owner and construction is expected to start very soon and continue through the rest of the year. The six-story 87-unit complex is expected to open by August or September of 2022.”
Nickels says infrastructure is being put in for Phase One of the Downtown Development.
“Next year I’d like to add some more money into the budget to do a Riverwalk and public kayak launch and make it a very beautiful area along the river. We see a lot of potential for that area.”
The Mayor adds that the city is extremely excited to see the progress being made saying the River Point Apartments will definitely change the skyline and be a catalyst for future development in the River Point District.
Ground-breaking is expected to take place in a few weeks.
