A number of college players including those from UW-Whitewater, Eau Claire & the University of Illinois are scheduled to compete in the Brutal Wear Open Tennis Tournament at Lincoln Park this weekend.
Tournament Director Debbie Seehafer says number-1 seed, Felix Corwin, a Wisconsin native from Brookfield has a world ranking of 511.
There are also some local players, as well as those who have roots here including three players from the Lindwall family.
Matches began this morning (August 6th) at 9:00 and will go into the late afternoon, depending on the weather.
The competition resumes Saturday morning at 9:00 with the quarterfinals and semi’s and the Finals in both men’s singles and doubles to occur on Sunday.
The public is invited to come out to Lincoln Park to watch some great tennis.
Food and refreshments will be sold all weekend long.
