A lightning strike is responsible for a multiple alarm fire early this morning in the Kewaunee County Town of Montpelier.
Luxemburg Community Fire Chief Lew DuChateau says crews were dispatched just before 1 a.m. for smoke in a house at E1171 State Highway 29.
Flames were showing upon their arrival with fire venting through a portion of the second floor.
Over 60 firefighters performed an interior attack lasting several hours allowing them to gain control and get access to all portions of the home.
No one was hurt and a dollar damage estimate is not available at this time.
Sheriff’s Deputies rerouted traffic on Highway 29 during the duration of the operation.
Assisting Luxemburg Fire on scene were agencies from Casco, New Franken, Kewaunee and Denmark.
