Bail was set at $20,000 cash this afternoon for a 48-year-old man in connection with a stabbing incident in Manitowoc over the weekend.
Guy Strzyzewski Jr. is charged with Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide-Disorderly Conduct and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Police were summoned yesterday (Sunday) afternoon to the Subway restaurant at 10th and Washington Streets quickly detaining Strzyzewski. The victim told officers that they spoke to one on Saturday while he was in the County Jail. Strzyzewski reportedly was going to offer the victim some help when he –according to the victim– turned on him and pulled a knife on him.
He then quickly ran towards the restaurant hoping to avoid Strzyzewski, but he swung the weapon at the victim, cutting him.
While in cuffs Strzyzewski said to officers “I told him I was going to kill him and I did kill him.” The name of the victim nor the extent of his injuries were not released.
Conditions of bail are that Strzyzewski has “no contact” with the victim or the restaurant, does not possess any dangerous weapon, and maintains absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol.
He remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for August 23rd at 1:30 p.m.
