A top statewide honor today for the Manitowoc County Senior Dairy Judging Team.
They won 1st place at the State 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held last week in conjunction with the State Ayrshire Milking Shorthorn Shows in Fond du Lac.
Over 40 senior contestants placed in ten classes and presented four sets of Oral Reasons. The winning senior team from Manitowoc County included: Lauren Siemers, Clarissa Ulness, Emma Vos, and Jenna Gries and was coached by Angie Ulness and Paul Siemers.
Siemers was high individual overall in the contest, while teammates Ulness and Vos were 5th and 6th overall. The lakeshore area judges finished a commanding 94-points in front of their nearest competitor.
Manitowoc’s winning performance means they will represent Wisconsin at the National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest during World Dairy Expo next month.
