Ian W. Tuschl, age 37, a Reedsville resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 16, 2021.
He was born January 11, 1984 in Manitowoc, son of Ruby Kay (Moffatt) Tuschl and the late Gregory W. Tuschl. Ian attended Valders High School, graduating with the class of 2002. He was employed as a painter for various local businesses, including Calibre, Team Industries, International Paper, and Manitowoc Cranes. He loved fishing, especially with his son Keaston. He also enjoyed making maple syrup, disc golf, riding his motorcycle, biking, canning, and working on vehicles.
Survivors include his son: Keaston Kozlowski; his mother: Ruby Kay Tuschl; his grandmother: Annette R. Tuschl; three siblings: Amber (David) Tisler, Cassondra (Adam) Mallow, and Jade Rose Tuschl; the mother of his son: Katie (Kozlowski) Amweg; his significant other: Rebecca “Becca” Riebe; nieces and nephews: Dominic, Dawson, Ashton, and Davina Tisler, Noah and Lily Bratz, and Cade and Fynn Mallow; aunts and uncles: Beverly Tuschl, Michael (Annette M.) Tuschl, Joseph (Corinne) Tuschl, Christopher Tuschl (girlfriend Kris Kovacic), Kim (John) Tebo, Judith (Tom) Zipperer, Diane (Scott) Peplinski, Harvey (Ellen) Moffatt Jr., and Lynnette (Jeffrey) Diedrich; as well as other relatives and friends. Ian was preceded in death by his father: Gregory W. Tuschl; his paternal grandfather: Jerome Tuschl; maternal grandparents: Harvey and Evelyn Moffatt Sr.; uncle: Jeffrey Tuschl; aunt and uncle: Leon and Lillian Moffatt; and other relatives and friends.
Ian’s friend Kurt Evenson’s family worded it best: Ian struggled for many years with substance abuse and depression. These struggles in no way defined who he was as a person, nor prevented him from being a great human being and loving others. Ian’s family encourages others experiencing these problems to not be ashamed and to seek help. You are not alone in your struggles, and there is help available.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Christianson and Deja Funeral Home, 202 Liberty Street, Valders. Mark Herrmann will officiate the service.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the Christianson and Deja Funeral Home, Valders.
