Manitowoc Lincoln High School won its’ season opener in Boys Soccer last night defeating the co-op of New Holstein-Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah 3-1.
The host Ships held a 2-1 lead at halftime of the match at Rubick Municipal Athletic Field.
Nathan Breidung began the scoring for Lincoln with an unassisted goal at the 17-minute mark of the first half.
Then, following a goal by the Huskies to tie it, Ivan Rodriguez tallied the tie-breaker, assisted by Taylor Nava, at the 33-minute mark.
Anthony Osborn added a penalty kick in the 2nd half to close the scoring.
Caleb Maes had 4-saves for Coach Chris Callen’s team, which will host the “SS Badger Carferry Cup” against Ludington, Michigan on Friday.
