Area Cross Country runners competed Thursday night (August 26th) at the season-opening Two Rivers Invitational.
The Tritons of Notre Dame Academy captured the team title in both divisions, while the host Raider girls finished 2nd, Valders 4th and Manitowoc Lutheran was 6th.
Mikeala Helling of Two Rivers was the top finisher in 19:22. Lutheran’s Brooklyn Luebke wound up 3rd in a time of 20-minutes while the Ships were paced by sophomore Gwen Stryzewski who covered the 5-k distance in 24:30.
In the Boys race, Notre Dame was followed by Valders and Two Rivers, while Lincoln was 5th and Lutheran 10th.
The top runner was the Vikings’ Shane Griepentrog in 15: 42 seconds, Mason Gates of the Ships was the race runner up in 17:10. The Lancers best finisher was Shawn Egerer at #24 in 19:09.
