A 54-year-old Manitowoc man is free on $900 cash bail after being taken into custody last week Thursday following two separate Domestic Violence incidents within a ten-hour period.
James J. Weiss is charged with Two Counts of Domestic Violence, one count of Battery, and a Count of Substantial Battery all with Domestic Violence Enhancers.
Police responded to a call of family trouble at a residence in the 900 block of South 22nd Street about 6:30 Wednesday night only to return to the same address about 4:30 Thursday morning.
The female victim told officers that she and Weiss (her boyfriend) got into an argument saying he punched her and didn’t want to press charges.
Weiss allegedly assaulted her again and reportedly had a gun on him.
She did safely remove herself from the home with no report of additional harm or injuries.
Weiss was eventually taken into custody after it was deemed safe to enter the home.
Conditions Of bail are that Weiss has “no contact” with the victim or any premises she occupies, and his initial appearance is scheduled for September 7th at 2:30 p.m.
