The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, in partnership with the Wisconsin Cranberry Growers Association, is welcoming visitors to participate in this year’s Cranberry Jamboree Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18.
This two-day event will celebrate Wisconsin’s state fruit and offer hands-on opportunities to learn why Wisconsin is the nation’s leading producer of cranberries.
Family-friendly activities will run from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center. Guests will investigate how cranberries are grown, why they float in water, and what gives cranberries their unique bouncing property.
The Cranberry Jamboree will be highlighted by the chance to wade into a replica cranberry bog. The bog will simulate a true cranberry marsh and offer attendees the chance to connect hands-on with Wisconsin agriculture. In addition, guests will learn more about cranberries through various STEM activities and product sampling.
Ruby, the official cranberry mascot, will also be in attendance.
