The Manitowoc Lincoln High School cross country teams competed Saturday in the Division-1 portion of the Shawano Hawk Invitational. The Ships Mason Gates captured the Boys individual title in a time of 16:12, while Green Bay Preble narrowly edged Hortonville in a tiebreaker for the team crown.
Coach Michael Bubolz said his Manitowoc squad finished just 8-points off the lead.
The Girls’ portion of the race went to Kaukauna, which had all 5-scoring runners placed among the Top-10. The Ships were paced by Elena Zavala, who finished 13th overall and turned in a season-best time of 22:11.
