A lakeshore area builder says he and his staff are hearing that people are looking to move here or relocate, more so, than in the past.
Brandon Bartow of Bartow Builders tells Seehafer News, “You will find in both of the two most available subdivisions in the city of Manitowoc, Silveridge and Woodridge are filling up and being built as a normal subdivision should.”
Bartow goes on to explain a subdivision is usually built out in 10-years, but both local examples are approximately 15-years old, “And, with that being said the rate they’re developing right now is all attributed to the fact that most of the people building in those (two subdivisions) work out of town.”
So, the area builder continued “people are finding that it’s very attractive to live in Manitowoc (because) it’s a very safe community and county, and they’ll commute to work.”
Bartow noted the other point is related to the Covid-19 pandemic: he says people are realizing “if I can work from home, I might as well build my dream home.”
He explained when they’re building, they are designing a whole lot different than in the past and showing more office space in those residences.
