Two individuals were taken into custody early this morning on multiple charges following a traffic stop early this morning on Manitowoc’s southside.
A Manitowoc Police officer observed a vehicle heading east on Washington Street with no headlights on. DOT records showed that the license plates on the vehicle belonged to a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Multiple officers arrived on the scene and when asked where they were headed-they responded to Kwik Trip.
One officer had recognized the female driver and male passenger from prior police contacts. Stating they appeared to ignore answering if there was anything illegal in the car.
The woman also denied officers’ consent to search the vehicle.
An exterior sniff of the vehicle by K-9 Neko gave a positive alert for the presence of illegal narcotics where a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance was found in the driver’s side map pocket.
A subsequent search of the male passenger’s backpack Uncovered a seven-inch long, large, fixed blade style knife along with another small black folding knife and a digital scale.
It was discovered that he is a convicted felon and prohibited for concealing a dangerous weapon.
Both suspects were taken into custody with recommended charges against the woman to include possession of methamphetamine, Felony Bail Jumping and several traffic violations.
None were listed for the male suspect at the time the Police report was filed.
