Officials in the Burlington Area School District are investigating claims that members of the football team using racial slurs during the game against Westosha Central last week.
The mother of Central star player Jakob Simmons told the Lake Geneva Regional News that the Burlington players repeatedly called her son the N-word.
Burlington is reportedly working with Westosha Central on the matter.
The investigation involves talking to players, coaches, and officials and reviewing video from the game.
A spokesperson for Burlington schools says the district doesn’t tolerate racism.
