Shirley P. Ferguson, age 96, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021.
Shirley was born May 9, 1925, in Seattle, Washington, daughter of the late Ivor A. and Genevieve K. Peterson. She attended Northwestern University where she met her husband, Robert. They were married July 20, 1946 in Oak Park Illinois.
Shirley was an active member of First Presbyterian church, a P.E.O., Chapter J, and a member of the CLIO Book Club. She was an avid golfer and tennis player.
Survivors include; one son and daughter in law, James I. and Mary Ferguson, Cary, NC; two daughters and sons in law, Suzanne M. and David J. Yanda, Manitowoc, Janet A. and David W. Bradford, Madison, WI; eight grandchildren, Amy Yanda (Mike Lee), Rebecca Yanda (Aaron Longrie), D. Joseph Yanda, Jr. (Jen), Patrick Ferguson (Eve), Emily Ferguson, Robert Bradford (Colleen), Anna Bradford (Tim Stieve), Ted Bradford (Ari), 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents and brother Richard I. Peterson.
Visitation will be held September 18, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church, 502 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, WI from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Matt Sauer officiating.
