Manitowoc’s jobless rate rose slightly while the County’s declined a bit in August.
Non-seasonally adjusted numbers released yesterday by the State Department of Workforce Development show 4.3 percent of the city’s workforce was unemployed, a three-tenths percent increase from July’s number of 4 percent but down significantly from August’s 2020 rate of 7 percent.
The County’s jobless rate in August was 3.5 percent a decline of one-tenth percent from July’s 3.6 percent and nearly 2 full percentage lower than August’s 2020 rate of 5.4 percent.
Wisconsin’s Unemployment rate remained unchanged in August at 3.9 percent while the national jobless rate in August was 5.2 percent.
