Two men appeared for bail hearings in Manitowoc County Circuit Court yesterday afternoon, one of them on a child abuse charge, the other for attacking the abuser.
48-year-old Matthan C. Lee is free on $5000 recognizance bond on a charge of Physical Abuse of a child while 19-year-old Kenneth M. Grady had bail set at $150 recognizance on a charge of Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Enhancer and remains in the County Jail at last word on a Probation Hold.
Police responded to a call from the alleged victim at a residence on Manitowoc’s northside saying that Lee, the head of the household, came home from work and began to yell then eventually pushed and slapped the child because the house in his estimation “wasn’t clean enough.”
Meanwhile, Grady, a sibling of the victim, allegedly got physical with Lee after he got physical with his sister.
Both men were taken into custody without further incident with conditions of bail to include for both defendants to have no contact with the premises or the victim and provide a valid address within 24 hours of release.
Lee’s initial appearance is scheduled for October 11th while Grady’s initial appearance is set for October 14th.
