A 37-year-old Manitowoc woman appeared in court for a second time this afternoon on a charge of Theft of a Firearm. Amy S. Jelinek also appeared yesterday (Tuesday) on separate charges of two counts of delivering methamphetamine and two counts of delivering fentanyl each within one thousand feet of a park with repeater enhancers and Felony Bail Jumping.
Manitowoc Police conducted a traffic stop in June of this year and during a routine search discovered a revolver, ammunition, and magazines for a .45 caliber handgun that she had allegedly stolen from her boyfriend.
Jelinek initially told officers she hadn’t known how those items got into the vehicle. A search of her phone unveiled a conversation with another man telling her to “grab that revolver and all clips.”
Jelinek’s boyfriend said he had no idea they were missing and didn’t give Jelinek permission to have them.
She wasn’t located until yesterday when she was arrested on the drug charges.
Jelinek remains in the County Jail on $1000 cash bail in each case and is scheduled for initial appearances in both matters Monday afternoon at 1:30 PM.
