A man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly attempted to steal multiple hoverboards from the Manitowoc Walmart.
Police were called at around 10:45 PM on Friday (October 1st) to investigate the claim.
A woman with Walmart’s Asset Protection team showed police a video of two individuals, a man and a woman, arriving at the store together a few days earlier.
The woman left the store with a backpack with an estimated value of $29 through the door on the grocery side of the store, while the man left with a cart filled with hoverboards.
The estimated value of the five different boards was estimated to be around $660.
Police located the suspect at home at around 5:15 Sunday afternoon (October 3rd), and the man admitted to stealing the hoverboards.
He was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with Felony Retail Theft, and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
