Bail is set at $1000 cash for a 31-year-old Manitowoc man after he allegedly attempting to steal several hoverboards from the Manitowoc Walmart last week.
Anthony J. Carter is charged with Felony Retail Theft and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping. Police were shown a video from the store’s Asset Protection Team showing two individuals arriving at the store together.
A woman was identified leaving the store with a backpack while Carter left with a cart filled with hoverboards with an estimated value at $660. Police located Carter at his home Sunday afternoon and admitted to committing the crime.
Conditions of Bail include no contact with the woman involved in the incident or the Manitowoc Walmart. He remains in the County Jail and has an initial appearance scheduled for October 11th at 1:30 PM.
