A North Dakota man accused of shooting two police officers is asking the court to choose jury members from outside the county.
Twenty-four-year-old Nathanael Benton of Fargo was a fugitive facing a murder charge in his home state at the time. The two Wisconsin police officers were wounded during an incident in Waukesha County.
Benton has entered a not-guilty plea.
His lawyers told the court local news coverage and social media postings have created too much prejudice among Waukesha County residents for him to get a fair trial.
