Wanting some Halloween Spirit? We Got You, Boo!
Get ready for some thrills and chills as Manitowoc Public Library gets Haunted! We are hosting our first-ever Teen Haunted Library on Tuesday, October 26 from 5:30 to 7 PM. MPL was already going to be in Halloween Mode this evening with our annual Family Activity Night Trunk or Treat extravaganza taking place, so we decided to go all out and give Teens in the community something with which they could explicitly have fun.
You may be asking yourself: “How do I get in on all this spooktacular Haunted Library fun? All you need to do is register by visiting Manitowoc Public Library’s Youth Department in-person or calling 920-686-3030. Please note that registration is required to attend the Teen Haunted Library. Registration officially opens on Friday, October 15, at 5 PM.
We are still keeping social distancing in mind, so important to pass along that teens and families to register in groups with a maximum of 5 people. Groups will tour through the Haunted Library every 5 minutes. The whole family is welcome to attend this program, but be warned—you will be spooked! With this much spine-chilling activity being the order of the day, we’re recommending that children under the age of 11 in attendance be accompanied by a grown-up.
But, wait! There are more ways to get in on all this spooky good fun! You see, not only is this event being held for Teens and their families, but we’re also looking for Teen Volunteers to help to create and haunt the scare-iffic experience! We created our “Boo Crew” for Teens ages 11 to 17. The “Boo Crew” will be helping with the planning, building, prepping, and to be hands-on for all the chills and thrills! You can remain behind-the-scenes if you prefer, but we are also in need of some zombies, ghosts, and goblins. And the best part is, if you join the “Boo Crew,” you can rack up some Community Service Hours for school while having a scary good time!
Right about now, you’re probably saying to yourself, “Hey! That Manitowoc Public Library Boo Crew sounds pretty epic! I want to do that?” Or maybe, if you’re not a Teen yourself, you may know of one or have one at home that is an expert scarer. So, how do you get in on the fun and become a part of the MPL “Boo Crew,” you ask? It is so easy. Just contact our new Teen Associate, Lisa Devins-Horohoe. You can drop by the Youth Department, call 920-686-3030, or just shoot Lisa an email at ldevinshorohoe@manitowoc.org. It’s just that simple!
There are so many ways to get in the Halloween Spirit at Manitowoc Public Library! Grab your friends, grab your costume, and get down to the Library!
We’re just DYING to see you!
