Bail is set at $1000 recognizance for a 29-year-old Manitowoc man after allegedly taking a woman’s vehicle claiming it was his.
Aaron M. Melius is charged with Operating a Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent.
MPD Officers were sent to a home in the 1900 block of Rankin Street Tuesday night and spoke with the homeowner who said the vehicle belonged to her daughter which was verified by the registration paperwork provided.
Melius allegedly took the keys from his mother while she was sleeping telling officers he made payments and also paid insurance on it.
