A major award was announced today for the head coach of the Roncalli/Two Rivers High School Boys Soccer team.
According to a news release from Roncalli Catholic Schools, Chris Corrao has been recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as the 2021 State Coach of the Year for Wisconsin.
Corrao and his coaching staff led the boy’s varsity team to their first state championship appearance and state title win in 2020.
The USC selects between 2 and 3 coaches within each state to be recognized annually with the award and the soccer community & USC then selects an All-Region Coaching Staff.
Roncalli Athletic Director, Nathan Kaderabek, said “I would like to congratulate Coach Chris Corrao on his achievement throughout this past year and we have been extremely fortunate to have him as our [boys soccer] coach. The knowledge and experience that he brings to our program has made us a top-tier program in the state.”
In appreciation, Corrao also said in part “It has taken me many years to realize that when you put your life in God’s hands, wonderful things do happen. I am beyond honored to receive this award and without the love and support of my wife Laura, daughters Makayla, Madelin, Haley and Lindsay, and the whole Roncalli family, none of this would be possible.”
