As we previously reported, Manitowoc will be getting some new Streetlights soon.
The City has released more information, explaining that four intersections will be affected starting Monday morning.
They are located at South 8th and Washington, South 10th and Franklin, South 10th and Washington, and South 10th and Marshall.
Plans are to close the South 10th and Franklin intersection along with South 10th and Washington.
The South 10th and Marshall intersection will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic but one lane will remain open to accommodate east and westbound traffic on Marshall to cross 10th Street, while South 8th and Washington will remain open to traffic at all times.
In addition, the Maritime Metro Transit Routes 2-4 and 6 will be impacted by the construction work especially in the Downtown Area and along North 7th and 10th Streets where temporary signage will be posted as necessary.
Intersections will be reopened to one lane of traffic in each direction during non-working hours and weekends with plans to reopen these intersections to one lane of traffic in each direction as work progresses or if crews are not actively working on a particular intersection.
General Contractor Bodart Electric Services of De Pere anticipates all underground work and above ground restoration work will be completed in about 2 and-a-half weeks, weather permitting, however, traffic signals won’t be operational until January of 2022 and all affected intersections will be controlled by stop signs until then.
Motorists are urged to follow posted detour signs and slow down within the construction areas.
