Beverly Jane Shambeau, age 89, lifetime resident of Two Rivers, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, surrounded by her children.
Beverly professed her faith throughout her life and passed on her love for our Lord and Savior to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was born in Two Rivers on October 22, 1931 to LeRoy and Irene L. (Bohm) Schnese. She completed her grade school education at St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School in 1949. On June 3, 1950, she married Glenn Walter Shambeau at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Glenn preceded her in death June 24th, 2019.
Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker for her family. Beverly and Glenn purchased Eastwin Valley Farm north of Two Rivers in 1959. She was involved in many activities throughout her life. She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church; dedicated 4-H leader; member of both St. John’s Ladies Society and Manitowoc County Homemakers Club; and was a member of many card clubs. She actively supported farm life and together with her family started the Eastwin Valley Golf Course in 1990 where she enjoyed golfing and cutting fairways through the age of 88. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her children and grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, camping, fishing, winters in Florida, and especially enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include her children: Tom and Beth Shambeau of Appleton, and their children, Adam (Kendall) Shambeau, their sons: Oliver and Henry; Stephen Shambeau; Jenny (Josh) Gitter and their children, Noelle and Archer. Kay and Wayne Abts of Winona, Minnesota, and their children, Brett Abts and special friend, Odessa Knight; Kayla (Ryan) Pundt and their children, Cora and Eli; Amber (Tyler) Maley and their son, Theo and a child due in May; and Timothy Abts and special friend, Nikki Karch. Polly and Dave Albers of Green Bay, and their children, Stephanie (Tom) Krahn and their children, Landon and Ava; Mark (Laura) Albers and their children, Evelyn, Nellie and June. Dan and Sandy Shambeau of Two Rivers. Jon Shambeau and very special friend, Spring Moore of Manitowoc, and his sons, Ebyn and Cayden. Jay and Sandy Shambeau of West Bend and their children, Elliot, Mason, Abby and Lilly. She is further survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Tony Tolksdorf of Two Rivers; three sisters-in-law: Audrey Shambeau of Two Rivers, Helen Kohlmeier of Manitowoc and Ruth Guetschow of Grayslake, IL; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Irene Schnese; her husband, Glenn W. Shambeau; an infant son, Mark Allan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Helma Shambeau; four brothers-in-law & one sister-in-law: Russell and Catherine Shambeau, Allan Shambeau, Paul Kohlmeier, and Wally Guetschow.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2021 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3607 45th Street, Two Rivers. Rev. David Arndt will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3607 45th Street, Two Rivers, from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, October 17th. Visitation will continue at the church Monday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m.
