Bail is set at $5000 recognizance bond for a 38-year-old Manitowoc man arrested over the weekend after allegedly punching his wife during an argument.
Justin J. Burnett is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl, Battery with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, and Felony Bail Jumping.
Officers responded to a call early last Saturday morning at a northside residence and upon arrival found a man and woman arguing. Burnett and his wife denied anything physical occurred but a citizen told police that after he was awoken by the sounds of the two arguing.
He grabbed his binoculars and saw Burnett punch his wife. He was taken into custody with a subsequent search of his vehicle revealing the Fentanyl and Methamphetamine.
There was no further incident and no one else was hurt. Conditions of bail are that Burnett has no assaultive contact with his wife and maintains absolute sobriety.
He is due back in court for an initial appearance on November 8th at 1:30.
