Lloyd worked for the Weyerhaeuser Company for 26 years, retiring at the age of 62.
Lloyd was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Manitowoc and a current member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church of Manitowoc. He enjoyed attending bible classes at Bethany, gardening, and yard work at his home. Many people may not know that Lloyd also enjoyed writing poetry. In the past Lloyd enjoyed making financial donations to many charities. He always looked forward to writing letters and spending time with his youngest granddaughter Josselyn during summer visits. Lloyd was a joy to be around and proudly earned the nickname “Smiley” years ago.
Survivors include his five children: Louis Guenther, Leon Guenther, Nathan Guenther all of Manitowoc; Kathy Gano, Lyndon, KS; LaVaune Guenther, Neenah and three grandchildren. One sister: Louise Chung, Madison; one sister-in-law Yvonne Guenther, Manawa. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: August and Hulda Guenther; his wife Joyce L. Guenther; two sisters: Irma & Lillian (Lolly); three brothers: Earl Guenther, Carl Guenther, and Leonard Guenther.
