A total of 850 Afghan refugees are going to be settling throughout Wisconsin.
These men, women, and children who escaped from Afghanistan in the waning days of the United States’ occupation have been living in military installations since their arrival, and some have already begun settling in the Green Bay, Fox Valley, Madison, Milwaukee, and Wausau areas.
Many of those staying in Wisconsin were staying at Fort McCoy.
Once they arrive at their new homes, the refugees will be aided by one of several partner agencies, which are Catholic Charities of Green Bay, and World Relief Fox Valley in the Oshkosh and Appleton area.
If you wish to donate to these organizations to help with the resettlement of Afghan refugees, you can visit their respective web pages.
